Aloha!
In our entrepreneurial voyage, we often encounter a wide spectrum of emotions – excitement, anticipation, fear, and at times, profound sorrow.
Today, I write to you from Honolulu where I spent precious moments with my mom. I was with her as she took her last breath. She passed peacefully on Wednesday as the Hawaiian sun gradually set over the Honolulu skies.
Amidst the heartache and goodbyes, I’m reminded of the power of “allowing,” a principle that guides us in life and business.
I invite you to reflect on this moving poem by Danna Faulds, “Allow”, which beautifully encapsulates our entrepreneurial journey and my own inner transition.
ALLOW
There is no controlling life.
Try?corralling a lightning bolt, containing a tornado.
Dam a stream and it will create a new channel.
Resist, and the tide will sweep you off your feet.
Allow, and grace will carry you to higher ground.
The only safety lies in letting it all in –
the wild and the weak –
fear, fantasies, failures, and success.
When loss rips off the doors of the heart
or sadness veils your vision with despair,
practice becomes simply bearing the truth.
