A Secret Compass

Aloha!
In our entrepreneurial voyage, we often encounter a wide spectrum of emotions – excitement, anticipation, fear, and at times, profound sorrow.
Today, I write to you from Honolulu where I spent precious moments with my mom. I was with her as she took her last breath. She passed peacefully on Wednesday as the Hawaiian sun gradually set over the Honolulu skies.
Amidst the heartache and goodbyes, I’m reminded of the power of “allowing,” a principle that guides us in life and business.
I invite you to reflect on this moving poem by Danna Faulds, “Allow”, which beautifully encapsulates our entrepreneurial journey and my own inner transition.
ALLOW
There is no controlling life.
Try?corralling a lightning bolt, containing a tornado.
Dam a stream and it will create a new channel.
Resist, and the tide will sweep you off your feet.
Allow, and grace will carry you to higher ground.
The only safety lies in letting it all in –
the wild and the weak –
fear, fantasies, failures, and success.
When loss rips off the doors of the heart
or sadness veils your vision with despair,
practice becomes simply bearing the truth.
In the choice to?let go of your known way of being,
the whole world is revealed to your?new eyes.
– Danna Faulds
Faulds vividly illustrates that controlling life is as futile as?“corralling a lightning bolt, containing a tornado.”
We, as entrepreneurs, resonate with this truth. Challenges are part and parcel of our journey, yet the shadow of failure can seem threatening, intimidating our dreams.
Faulds offers soothing advice. She encourages us to?“Allow, and grace will carry you to higher ground.”
Her words highlight the power of acceptance, of flowing with the rhythm of life and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the resilience and grace that lies within us.
So, what does this mean for us as women entrepreneurs? Let’s delve deeper into this theme with our?interactive worksheet.
As I sign off from Honolulu, journeying in the realm of allowing with my mom, I thank you for joining me in this contemplation. Remember,?“Allow, and grace will carry you to higher ground.”
May the week ahead be one where you courageously allow grace to guide you, embracing every emotion, every triumph, and every challenge that comes your way.
Next week, we will delve deeper into cultivating acceptance in the face of adversity. But for now, I encourage you to consider the questions in the worksheet, reflecting on how the power of “allowing” can positively impact your entrepreneurial journey.

Until we meet again, stay resilient, and keep allowing.
With warmth and resilience,
P.S. I always appreciate hearing your insights, reflections, and experiences. Feel free to reach out and share how the principle of “allowing” is manifesting in your life and business. You’re not alone on this journey.
