Have you ever wondered why some salespeople seem to close deals effortlessly, while others struggle to make a single sale?
If you’re not in a direct sales role, you might think this doesn’t apply to you… Think again! Remember that every time you present an idea, make a suggestion, or ask for a favour, you’r in a sales situation where everything I’m about to say applies…
The answer isn't what you think.
It's not about having the perfect pitch or knowing every feature of your product.?The real secret to closing more deals is something far more powerful: unwavering confidence.
AND… The really exciting par is that genuine confidence isn't something you're born with. It's a skill that can be developed and honed over time.
Think about the last time you felt truly confident in a sales situation. How did it feel? How did your prospect respond?
Chances are, your confidence was contagious, and your prospect was more receptive to your offer.
Now, imagine feeling that way in every sales interaction. Sounds too good to be true??
It's not.?
The truth is, confidence is the cornerstone of successful selling. Without it, even the most polished pitch can fall flat. But with it, you can overcome objections, build trust, and close deals with ease BECAUSE your confidence is based on the conviction that your product or service will truly make a difference.
So, how do you cultivate this game-changing confidence?
It starts with your mindset.
You need to believe in yourself, your product, and the value you bring to your customers.
This isn't about faking it till you make it. It's about genuinely understanding and internalising your worth.
Next, you need to prepare relentlessly. Know your product inside and out. Anticipate objections and have solid responses ready.

But preparation alone isn't enough. You also need practice – lots of it. Role-play with colleagues. Record yourself and listen back. Seek feedback and continuously refine your approach.
Remember, confidence isn't about being perfect. It's about being comfortable with imperfection and learning from every interaction.
Here's a powerful exercise to boost your confidence:
Before your next sales call, take a moment to recall your biggest success. Feel the emotions associated with that win.?
Now, carry that feeling of success into your conversation. Watch how it transforms your energy and your results.
PS...Did you know that neuroscientists have studied people’s brain waves while they read newspapers and watch news and current affairs broadcasts and observed that the creative and analytical areas of the brain shut down and the primal fight or flight areas are energised?
Think about that for a moment… Newspapers and broadcasts are designed to make us fearful and detach our critical and creative mechanisms.
That is why you need to be selective about the media you consume.
It’s why social scrolling can be depressing - and even lead to suicide.

P.S.A. - Your ISP may be automatically sending spam and unsubscribe signals to email list providers. It’s a good idea to “Reply” to your favourite email lists every so often and even click on links. Privacy settings on phones can mean that list providers (Keap, Mailchimp, Aweber, Constant Contact etc) don’t accurately record opens. Many of them have a policy that if people haven’t opened an email in the past 45 days, they are flagged as uninterested or auto-unsubscribed.
If you notice that you are no longer receiving emails from some senders, that might be the problem.

Absolutely, Chandell. Cultivating a mindset of confidence is essential. It’s fascinating how visualisation techniques can help set a positive tone before engaging with prospects. Have you ever tried any specific visualization exercises, and if so, which ones do you find most effective?
