So many people aspire to become social media influencers, but only a few truly understand how to achieve that goal.

Today, I want to share a practical strategy to help you grow your followers and boost content engagement with a bit of sweat equity.

Step 1: Research Other Influencers If you want to become an influencer, the first thing you need to do is connect with others who are already influential in your niche. Influencer marketing thrives on creating valuable content and fostering collaborations, and it all starts with identifying creators who share similar audiences.

To simplify this process, consider using tools like Favikon. With Favikon, you can search for top creators on specific platforms, such as LinkedIn, and find those who align with your target audience.

Step 2: Engage with Influencers Once you’ve identified relevant creators, visit their LinkedIn profiles, follow them, and turn on post notifications. You can do this by clicking the notification bell on their profile and ensuring it’s set to receive all notifications.


Next, it’s time to interact with their content:

  • React to their posts using LinkedIn reactions such as “Thumbs Up,” “Celebrate,” or “Support.”
  • Leave thoughtful and valuable comments that add to the conversation and tag the creator in your comment.

Why This Works By consistently engaging with top creators, three key things happen:

  1. Visibility: Their followers will see your comments, increasing your chances of gaining new followers.
  2. Algorithm Boost: If the creator engages with your comment, it could push your visibility higher on the platform’s algorithm.
  3. Reciprocity: Regularly supporting their content may encourage them to engage with your posts, dramatically increasing your reach and engagement.

Step 3: Stay Consistent Consistency is critical. Aim to engage with 15-20 creators daily to stay top of mind. Over time, this effort will give your brand the extra push it needs to stand out.

Great points! Commenting is such an underrated approach. Perfect way to overcome the "stage fear" of posting while learning what your audience actually cares about.
