SECONDARY SURVEY

After conducting the Primary survey(DR ABC) to a casualty who is unconscious and breathing, you need to go further to check for any clue or recognition factor. Check for DOTS(Deformities, Open wounds, Tenderness and Swellings). Secondary survey is a Head to Toe survey/Rapid assessment - this a quick, less detailed head - to toe assessment of the most critical patients. Focused assessment - This is an exam conducted on stable patients. It focuses on a specific injury or medical complaint.
