Be the second man!

Let me begin with a Zen story...

A long time ago, a Zen master was gifted with a beautifully made crystal Bowl. it was a Gift from a former student to whom he was very grateful.

Every day, he enjoyed drinking out of this bowl. He would show it to visitors and tell them about the kindness of his student.?

However, every morning he held the bowl in his hand for a few seconds and reminded himself that this Bowl had already broken.?

One day, a Clumsy visitor toppled the bowl on its shelf, and the bowl fell. when it fell to the floor, it was smashed into thousands of tiny pieces.?

The rest of the visitors gasped in shock, but the Zen master remained calm. Looking at the mess under his feet, he said: oh yes, Let's start. He took a Broom and began to sweep.?

In life, we always have situations when we feel that our whole life is broken into thousands of tiny pieces.?

We feel lost

We feel defeated

We see no end

We see no way out

We see no light?

Half of the the happiness is Being okay with what you have and the other half is Being okay with losing what you have

The man who is grateful for his possessions is ahead of most...but the man who knows, his possessions won't last, is ahead of him sill.?

Possession is not an issue, but the attachment to possessions is the real issue.?

Be the second man. Cherish what you have but always remember that nothing is forever. Even the bad times will have an end.?

Deep debt of gratitude for your read and time!

We're all a little broken, that's what makes us unique and special. Love your insights as always, my friend.

Great reminder Shivaraj! excessive attachment causes suffering. A little detachment make us see reality from more than one perspective. Thank you for your kind mention

The second man is actually first in command with the raw truth of life. I love the example of how the second man treated a gift as precious that was second hand. It was about the giving and not the gift. The first man name Adam tarnished the gift of life but the man named the Last Adam, none other than Christ Jesus, is the master of our broken pieces.
