The Second Jump

Hello there faithful LinkedInners – what a cracking start to this new year and new decade!

It seems many of you are deep in the thick of 2020 and charging on - some doing new things; some doing the same as last year but differently. We’re already 6 weeks in and I reckon you’ve either found your groove or you’re ready for the second jump so let’s gear up, together.

When I was a kid I’d spend hours at the BMX track. The first segment had two jumps – the first being a ramp that you just needed to hit hard and fast and simply get it done. The second jump came immediately after but by then you’d found your groove and could ‘own it’. There's a freedom and confidence that comes with the second jump.

If you’re hitting that second jump of the year, it’s time to own it – this is the time knuckle down and commit. For me, it's the real start of the year where the warm-up is well and truly under the belt and I'm hitting my straps. I love this time of year from a work-perspective.

I’m especially excited by 2020 as I’ve been scheming, developing and scheduling a whole raft of new work that will see me balance a mix of work around the #Neurodiversity space helping leaders and teams uncover, unlock and unleash their hidden potential as different thinkers, while continuing to support #HR & #DiversityandInclusion professionals to deliver even greater value in their work.

Already in the traps for this year are:

  • A new book called TILT: Thinking Differently About Different Thinking;
  • A new Podcast focused on the gifts and grumbles, stresses and superpowers that come with leveraging Neurodiversity at work that my team and I are researching and recording interviews ready for release next month;
  • An event series for Neurodiverse thinkers, their managers and colleagues across NZ & Australia with some inspiring and clever speakers & sponsors (EVERYTHING will be different about this – no more boring catering for the bell-curve when we live at the edges of it!);
  • A selection of new ways to engage with my growing tribe of glorious different thinkers and those that support, live with and lead them, including:
  1. An online programme;
  2. An in-house programme for teams and leaders to tap into and apply new ways of thinking (for the neurodiverse and neurotypical-alike!)
  3. A new video series full of content snippets to make stuff easy and accessible for all.

We’ve also been negotiating a series of partnerships with experts and advocates in the Neurodiversity space across NZ & Australia so we’ve got more to announce and provide some exciting detail on over the coming months. Yayness abound!

If you’re keen to hear more, keep up and/or be part of the growing tribe of different thinkers then simply holler ‘YES PLEASE’ (manners are always good, right?) in the comments below or go to my website and sign up at the bottom of any page at https://www.callummckirdy.com/

I’m really looking forward to having you along for the ride as we hit the second jump. Let's commit together, pedal hard and hold on for dear life!

Take care and talk soon

Callum
