Wall Street Journal Reports Chinese Hackers Spying on U.S. Internet Traffic
Recently The Wall Street Journal reporting has revealed a major cyberattack from a group tied to the Chinese government. Hackers penetrated the networks of several broadband providers and gained access to the U.S. domestic wiretapping system, which is particularly alarming to government officials and security investigators for a variety of reasons: the hackers gained deep access, were extraordinarily stealthy, and were inside the networks for months - potentially even far longer than that.
The need to create, adopt, and continuously update robust cyber security standards to safeguard our freedoms is clear now more than ever.
