SEC Proposes Disclosure Requirements for Climate-Related Risks
On March 21, 2022, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission voted to issue a rule proposal for notice and comment that would require all issuers to include in their annual report, information about the risks to the business and strategy from climate-related risks. The SEC released a Fact Sheet that provides a high-level overview of the proposals which can be accessed at https://www.sec.gov/files/33-11042-fact-sheet.pdf. The comment period will be open at least 60 days (comment period is the longer of 60 days from when posted on the SEC's website or 30 days after it is published in the Federal Register).
