A criticism of West Ham United? This is more of a wake up call to any club that has wasted money on a transfer gamble. So it's a wake up call to practically every professional football club. There is so much more that can be done to protect an investment in the transfer market.

Injuries aside the only thing that stops a player from performing to the upper reaches of his ability is what is physically happening inside their brain on the pitch, in training AND with their life outside of the game.
