Seat 5f now available

I’m happy to announce that seat 5f on the early bird flight with SAS from Troms? will be available from July 1st, and on the evening return flight as well. It’s an excellent seat, carefully selected throughout the years. The sun is on the opposite side of the plane both southbound and home again. It’s situated exactly where the hull has expanded to full size, giving sufficient space for shoulder padded business-suits with grey men inside. The window is placed perfectly providing the right amount of wall for resting your head while gazing upon a world in impatient development and nervous transformation. I’ve increasingly kept my seatbelt fastened in that seat, and the SAS diamond card grew steadily heavier in my pocket. Now, I’ll be leaving Torghatten this summer, making that seat significantly more available. But not totally available. I’m proud that Torghatten still wants to keep me on as BOD member in several subsidiaries after I’ve left the group. That gives me the possibility to stay in touch with all the magnificent people whom every day makes a difference for the communities, providing transport services as employees of the largest company in this part of Norway.

I have no answers to give on what I will do after the summer. Firstly, I’ll finish my contract with Torghatten. After that, I’ll tend to the exciting spread of BOD-appointments I’ve already got the privilege of serving in, within maritime, electrical and public services. And I will, of course, follow up on a couple of other possibilities. I think I’m the type of guy who’s easily passioned for whatever I engage in. But I have experienced that I’m even easier motivated in the cross-section between human and technology; when different branches of industry and areas of expertise mix together, and where new solutions and technology blends with sharp heads and eager hands to create new possibilities none had been able to enact alone. I’ve been working in that cross-section in the last years, mainly on autonomy and electrification, utilizing my competence from both maritime and electrical industry to facilitate sustainable new technology. And it has tremendous potential. In addition, the Arctic has exceptional conditions for the application of technology to support profitable and sustainable businesses. It will require change, it will require equity and innovation, digitalization and competence. In other words: it will provide an abundance of opportunities, and I would be happy to participate! Have a nice weekend.
