Seasons

They say the season is upon us, the holidays are here, the time is now, the time is right, the joy of the season and many additional “sayings” that are part of this time of year. While all of that is good and encouraging what I want to write about today is that it is always that time, of year, of life, of day and of course of You. (Yes You, with my virtual finger pointing at you.)

Seasons are the markers for the time that passes in our little adventure, our journey, we call life. Those markers can be created from any number of events, issues and challenges that we face during the course of the year. And we can get confused and distracted by the markers, the events and the season. I want to say that the season is always and forever, not just now. Do not let the season dictate your action let your actions dictate your season. Are you in the season of joy? Are you in the season of gratitude? Are you in the season of faith? Are you in the season of happiness? Well, you are the season, every day, every moment. So be all of that all of the time.

Now I know it is easy to say this, it is sort of Pollyanna to put these words on a sheet and smile as we are challenged and put through tribulations. Not really, it can be hard and difficult, it can be a cause for stress and headaches, but, it does not have to dictate our season, our ability, our action. It is in those difficulties that we grow, and not like a mushroom in the dark and stoked with manure, but like an oak breaking through the soil, like a redwood reaching for the sky. Even the redwood is threatened by fire every season and the oak by storms that rage through the valley.

So, reach, grow, seek, determine and be the season that will create the story for the ages, the storm cannot bend your boughs, nor can the fire stop your reaching for the sky. (Every day and every moment)
