Eating seasonally has many health benefits and can also help you to save money on your grocery bills.

What's in season can vary from region to region due to local micro climates, so be sure to look out for local producers in your area, but this is a general guide on what to look out for this month in your supermarket:

Vegetables

  • Brussels sprouts
  • Cabbages (Savoy and other winter types)
  • Celeriac
  • Chicory
  • Chard
  • Jerusalem artichokes
  • Kale
  • Leeks
  • Purple sprouting broccoli
  • Salsify


Fruit

  • Apples (Stored)
  • Rhubarb (Forced)


Meat & Fish

  • Brill
  • Haddock
  • Monkfish
  • Pollock
  • Hare
  • Venison
