Seaside Cheung Sha Wan Pier Canopy in Hong Kong
Clear Lighting Co., Ltd
Providing custom-fit LED linear lighting solutions engineered to grant you versatile applications to achieve durability.
Located on a harbor on the west side of the Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong, the waterside Cheung Sha Wan Pier Canopy was designed to serve a space for informal gatherings and diverse activities such as fishing, picnicking and yoga. The shade structure comprises a series of undulating roofs that rest on poles set at staggered heights, producing an undulating, scalloped form. FlexgloTM F23 Monochromatic Neon Flex Lights (Vertical Bending) are deployed on the underside of the canopy, hoping to attract people to the waterfront promenade. Looking at a distance, the Pier makes for a distinctive profile floating above the water.
Given the project’s location, the light is constantly exposed to the sea air and saltwater. Also, it is publicly accessible 24 hours a day with no staff on-site to provide security services. For these reasons the luminaires selected needed to be of the highest quality and durability to stand the test of time. The design team was able to develop a lighting design for the project that met not only its functional needs, but also its higher aspirations of creating a new landmark in the night.
Flexglo? F23 Slim Silicone Neon Flex
Flexglo? F23 Neon Flex is compact and slim, available in vertical and horizontal bending. The light is encapsulated in high-quality silicone and able to withstand UV and saltwater exposure. Besides, the slender light is IP67-rated, making for excellent outdoor performance. The compactness of the light can fit snugly into narrow space, making it ideal for neat and discreet installation.
