In today's digital age, the way we consume information has evolved greatly. Social media is the top choice for many to stay updated on the latest news and trends.
A survey we conducted revealed that platforms like YouTube and TikTok are the preferred source for trend-related information. This is not surprising due to the prevalence of social media in our daily lives and its popularity as a primary source of news and information. Social media is convenient, as many have abandoned traditional TV or switched to streaming services. Its ease of access and abundance of tools make it a popular choice for staying informed and connected. The speed of information dissemination is also a crucial factor in today's fast-paced world. TikTok, for example, has become popular due to the speed at which videos can be consumed.
Newsletters, as the second most popular source for news, also came as no surprise. Newsletters are easily accessible and provide a tangible source of information found online. They also allow people to subscribe to specific topics or industries, making it simple to stay updated on the latest trends. However, I would choose community discussion as the second place, as it's an easily accessible way to interact with others. For example, a Reddit community would be a great source of information and interaction. I especially enjoy following discussions about the games I play and gaining valuable insights from others' perspectives on updates and such.

Conventions, such as “Comic-Con”, “Game on”, “DevGamm”, “Game Jam”, are also great places to find like-minded people and discuss new trends. There are many diverse conventions available, covering a variety of topics, not just limited to gaming. Some may even delve into aspects of Japanese culture. However, there is still a chance to find content related to games as many conventions feature Japanese games and the like. Attending conventions can also be a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and discuss the future of game development. It's always more reassuring to hear about a game from a real person rather than just the internet. When someone shares their enthusiasm for a game and their experience with it, it creates trust that often leads to others wanting to try it as well. The personal touch and passion shared by fans can make a game seem like the greatest one ever. That's why brands should consider conferences as a channel to update their audience on games and news.
Analytical news was found to be the least popular source for obtaining information on trends. This could be due to the fact that it requires more effort and critical thinking to comprehend and process the information presented. Nevertheless, it's crucial to keep in mind that this type of news can offer valuable insights and perspectives that may not be found in other sources.
Besides what was said before, there are also many players who don't go to social networks to follow the news, they just look for it in the game itself.?It's essential to keep all players informed, not just about positive developments or news but also about potential issues. This fosters trust and lets players know we're aware and working to resolve any problems. While we currently don't have live broadcasts to share news, it's a goal to improve communication within the game.
The key question is how to choose the right platform. It depends on the fanbase - where they are more established. For instance, taking "Cooking Fever" as an example, the Twitter platform has fewer fans compared to Facebook. However, the latter is the king in general, indicating that social media is indeed the primary source for many seeking updates and news, not just for games.?
