In Search of Just Right - The Journey Continues

It was the dinner hour on Sunday, as the show opened for the week. We were pretty sure attendance would be weak. The weather was brutal and the location was in the far end of the convention center. But there they were, notepads in hand, standing room only, ready to turn their passion into a thriving business.

The entire week at Imaging USA is designed to help photographers around the world perfect their skills. Sponsored by Zenfolio, our job was to put these highly skilled photographers into the mindset of building a business worth having and a life worth living.

The mindsets2milestones platform was a hit. Easy to grasp, the common sense approach to getting from here to there became a thing. Discovery, Roadmap, Execution. People were talking about their Just Right all week.

We talked about SMART goals, and changed the "A" to Action and the "R" to relevant. Because words like Achievable and Realistic are excuses to set the bar low. Michael preached from books like The ONE Thing, Think and Grow Rich, Smart Talk, The Five Choices, and The Power of Habits.

The MCA thought wheel drew high praise, illustrating how a downward spiral or upward momentum are driven by the same mental mechanism, with the only difference being the thoughts we feed it.

At the end of the day, it was agreed that common sense is not that common, and focusing on ONE Thing at a time gives people an edge over their competition these days. People walked away with simple and effective tools they can use immediately. And they were reminded that, "Nobody ever learned to ride a bike at a seminar. Nothing changes until something changes. So what are you going to do about it?"

If you get a chance to hear Michael speak in your area, it's worth your time.
