Now that Google is rolling out the June Spam Update I thought it would be useful to share a bad practices that you should avoid as they can you hit by an update?


Avoid bad practices like:


1- Buy links without any strategy behind

2- Adding too many keywords in a page with the aim to improve rankings that makes it sound unnatural?

3- copying others' content, even if you just update the content.?

4- create AI content at a scale with the aim to manipulate rankings

Congruence Analysis

Check whether the text in the ad matches the search term that triggers it, and whether the text on the landing page matches the text in the ad.

This doesn't necessarily need to be word-for-word match - though that's often a good bet - but in terms of relevant messaging, particularly any key benefits or offers. In short - whatever motivated the search should be reflected in the ad, and whatever motivated the ad click should appear prominently on the landing page.

Make sure you're in good shape here and UX, CVR and (les importantly) Quality Score will all benefit!
