Seamless Migration from Suite8 to OPERA Cloud

Seamless Migration from Suite8 to OPERA Cloud

When making the decision to transition your hotel and guest data to a cloud system, it's crucial to have a trusted partner by your side. This ensures a smooth and risk-free switch, without compromising guest profile data or experiencing security breaches or non-compliance issues.

By choosing a cloud-based system like OPERA Cloud, you can enjoy numerous benefits. These include improved efficiency and faster operations with real-time data, minimal downtime, and robust security measures to safeguard your system and guests.

OPERA Cloud offers an array of impressive features, including compatibility with any browser and device, granting your staff the flexibility to cater to guest needs from anywhere and at any time. The platform is highly customizable, allowing personalization at the property, corporate, and individual user levels. Moreover, it is a global platform available in 20 languages, meeting fiscal requirements in over 100 countries.

Another standout feature of OPERA Cloud is its deep integration with over 3,000 open APIs. This seamless connectivity enables you to connect with a wide range of third-party applications through the Cloud Marketplace. Additionally, comprehensive security measures, including OCI compliance at every level, ensure the full protection of your data and operations.

There are many reasons why hotels benefit from a move to Cloud yet as with any other transition there are various questions that will arise.

We have recently shared an article about our HRS Migration Tool enabling migration of data from OPERA V5 hosted to OPERA Cloud but can you migrate from Suite8 to OPERA Cloud too.

All future guest bookings and blocks can be uploaded from Suite8 to OPERA Cloud using The Import Data Functionality.

Data that can be migrated from Suite8 to OPERA Cloud includes:

-????? Guest and Contact Profiles

-????? Accounts (Travel Agent, Company & Source)

-????? Relationships (Relationship between Accounts and Contact Profiles)

-????? Blocks

-????? Room and Rate Grid

-????? Reservations

-????? Activities

Let us take a deeper dive into what this means.

These groups referred to as Data Types need to have pre-defined set of Elements (Fields) to enable upload and mapping into fields in OPERA Cloud.

Data Type Templates for each must have Mandatory columns making up the Data Type but there are also Configuration and Optional Columns to consider.

As an example, for group Guest and Contact Profiles upload file will consist of Mandatory columns such as Unique_ID and Last_Name.

Configuration Column will consist of Profile_Language, VIP_Code, Country, State and others while Optional Columns might include City, Communication or Postal Code among others.

This applies to Accounts, Reservations, Room and Rate Grid, Accounts (Travel Agent, Company & Source), Blocks and Activities.

However, in Relationships Data Type Templates all fields will be mandatory - Unique_ID_Relationship, Unique_ID_Account and Unique_ID_Ind_Contact.

Of course, there are some prerequisites that must be in place.

Task “Import data” enabled and your version of OPERA Cloud must be version 21.1 to upload Blocks, Room and Rate Grid and Activities or alternatively if you are on version 20.4 or above migration can take place without these data templates.

At HRS Hospitality and Retail Systems, our team has a proven track record of successfully guiding customers through the transition from Suite8 to OPERA Cloud.
