Seamless Middle East 2024

Seamless Middle East 2024

The Seamless Middle East event was an exciting opportunity for growth and connection.

For three full days, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the Seamless Middle East, one of the largest and most influential events in the global payment industry. Despite the sheer number of attendees preventing me from visiting every company and booth, the event was a unique and enriching experience, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and innovations in the industry.

At the conference, I had the invaluable opportunity to connect with influential figures in the global payment industry, a testament to the event's significance and its immense value to networking. Also, I met a lot of friends and colleagues.

I unintentionally categorized the event into hardware, software, and business; perhaps it was just the 'IT man mentality' kicking in.?This mindset often focuses on the technical aspects of a situation, which?in?this?case?led me to categorize the event based on the types of solutions being showcased.

Hardware:

The Seamless Middle East event showcased various innovative hardware solutions.?Notable among them was the introduction of new intelligent electronic payment terminals by TELOP, UROVO, and TRENDIT. These terminals represent the latest advancements in payment technology, designed to streamline transactions and enhance user experience. Their advanced features and capabilities could open up new business opportunities for those in the payment industry.

In general, there is a growing trend to support QR codes by providing a separate screen to display them and a camera to capture them.

A number of?terminal factories participated in the event, and they offered customized terminals to suit your needs. They can even?be branded?with your brand ID.

It was concerning to notice that many payment terminals used low-quality materials at the event. When you checked with the terminal provider, they mentioned targeting the African market.

Many card and presentation providers attended the event to showcase different devices and cards. While I wasn't particularly interested in the card aspect of the event, I did note an interesting trend. The industry is moving toward supporting fingerprints on cards, which could revolutionize?the way?we authenticate payments in the future.

In the hardware section of the event, many factories displayed different stands and rubber products, offering the option to customize any stand or rubber.

The stands and rubbers?protect the terminal from damage and theft. They can?also be customized with your branding.

Outside the exhibit, I noticed a booth related to robotics called 'The Hub Robots'.?While they do not offer?any?payment products, we discussed the potential for future collaboration. One idea we explored was embedding a payment terminal in the robot to facilitate services in the future, which could be a game-changer in the industry.

Software

The software segment of the event highlighted the importance of digital commerce and fintech solutions. Big names like Way4 and WorldPay were present at the event. I recommend visiting their websites to learn more about their offerings.

Another exciting company, YEO, offers a secure and private messaging platform. It certifies the devices and ensures the recipient's privacy. This platform could be a valuable tool for businesses looking to enhance their communication and security measures, potentially leading to more secure and efficient transactions.

YEO provides Facial authentication, ensuring that only the intended recipient will receive the message.

Many companies were offering white-labeled payment software. For example, Paysky and Payskey offered a white-label gateway, super app ecosystem, store builder, bill payment, and soft POS. Many software providers started offering their custom hardware products at the event.

Business

While attending the events, I was thrilled to observe numerous promising business opportunities within software and hardware, payment solutions, outsourcing services, and talent acquisition.

If you're interested in exploring those business opportunities or need consultation support, don't hesitate to?get in touch with?me. Let's grab some coffee together, and I'll?make sure to?provide whatever you need or connect you with the right people.?

Great roundup, Wasim! ??I noticed the part about QR codes - it seems like we're witnessing a whole new language. It got me thinking about how this could revolutionize the game in areas where digital banking is just starting to take off. Let's discuss this further over a cup of coffee!
