SEAI April Update

The SEAI Energy Show took place from 20-21 March 2024 in Dublin’s RDS. We were delighted to see so many of you at the SEAI stand and at the various seminars, talks and live demos that took place. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.?

We hosted two awards ceremonies at the SEAI Energy Show – the ZEVI Electric Vehicle Dealership of the Year Awards and the Product of the Show Awards. Congratulations to the winners who are mentioned below.?

2024 ZEVI Electric Vehicle Dealership of the Year Awards?

Fitzpatrick’s Garage Kildare has won the annual award which recognises outstanding efforts in encouraging electric vehicle (EV) uptake in Ireland and was presented at the SEAI Energy Show at the RDS in Dublin. This is the second time that Fitzpatrick’s has been announced overall winner, having won National Electric Vehicle Dealership of the Year at the very first awards in 2022.?

SEAI launches new behavioural research?| Heat pump adoption in Ireland?

SEAI launched two reports that focus on encouraging heat pump adoption in oil-heated homes that are considered “heat pump ready” in terms of their existing insulation and airtightness.??

The research found that homeowners in these types of homes are willing to switch from a fossil boiler to an electric heat pump but only when their current heating system needs replacing. Current Government grants are helpful, but additional supports and promotion would further boost uptake.?

How to register as a One Stop Shop?| Complete Stage 1?

The purpose of a One Stop Shop (OSS) is to offer, manage and deliver an end-to-end service to the homeowner, advising on and carrying out all aspects of a home energy upgrade.?You must apply to SEAI to become a registered OSS. SEAI will assess each application against set eligibility criteria and application evaluation criteria outlined in the OSS Registration Guidelines.? This video explains how to complete Stage 1 of the registration process.??
