The hot debate surrounding what impact AI is going to have on the role of Sales Development isn't going to go away.
Do I think there's an immediate risk to the SDR function? No.
Do I think SDRs and SDR organisations, should start educating themselves on how they build in the use of AI in their workflows, yes.
I certainly know from my own feelings that for a long time I felt as if I should be leaning into the use of ChatGPT, but I felt somewhat overwhelmed by how to go about bringing it into my day-to-day. And for SDR Leaders reading this, that sense of being overwhelmed and confused by how to use it most definitely has delayed me enabling reps I work with on it.
I want it to be helpful, not a hindrance for reps.
