SDP-1 USER RESEARCH

SDP-1 USER RESEARCH

#kluniversity #klcse #klcseh

Greetings to all,

As a part of our Skill Development Project-1, we as a team have performed user research of our Business System. The Business System we have chosen for this project is Agriculture & Aquaculture Systems. We went through all five Design Thinking steps: Empathy, Design, Ideate, Prototype and testing—to thoroughly comprehend and get solid understanding about the business system.

What is SDP?

  • As part of our coursework, we do a skill development project where we apply a specific FULL STACK to solve challenges from the outside world.
  • SDP-1 is exclusively for MERN stack.

Problem Statement:

Despite the benefit made from selling the crop, farmers often sell their crops as quickly as possible after harvest because of particular circumstances and meteorological conditions.

Therefore, we create an app that serves as a liaison between godown management and farmers, enabling the farmers to preserve and benefit from the sale of their crops.

Description:

?More than 65 to 70 percent of people in India depend on agriculture for their livelihood. Reduced arable land, climate change, water scarcity, and widespread population and labour migration from rural to urban regions have all slowed the rate of agricultural expansion.

Many people are currently considering how to grow the highest-quality crops. However, nobody is considering how to store the crops safely.

Because of this, only farmers lose (between 20 and 30 percent) of the money they actually make.?So, we focused on storage management.

Interaction with User Groups(Farmers):

  • ?We conducted a survey at namalikallu village.
  • ?We made ?several interactions with farmers
  • Based on their ?responses, we collect information with the help of google forms.
  • We ask these questions:

Insights gained from farmers:

? Many of them still use conventional agricultural methods and are unaware of modern ones.

? Some of them are experiencing problems with water.

? A lot of them suffer financial losses as a result of crop damage.

? However, there are a sizable number of godowns in that village. However, few people were aware of the godowns.

Photos Captured at the time of the survey:

We Capture some photos and videos at the time of survey.

CUSTOMER JOURNEY MAP:

A customer journey map displays the customer's journey. It will demonstrate to us in great detail the problems the consumer is having in a specific situation.

It demonstrates when and how we may assist the customer by offering the answer.

Target Groups:

  • All levels of farmers who sell their crops for best rate.

Conclusion:

We applied the principles and techniques of design thinking to identify a practical, client-focused solution to the issues that would arise in our project. It enabled us to move in an empathic manner and experience the Scenario from several points of view.
