Our commitment
We work within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on goals related to environmental sustainability under our ‘Orona Green’ initiative. These include SDGs 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and 13 (Climate Action).
COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
We have environmental certifications, such as:
- Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
- Ecodesign Management (ISO 14006)
- Environmental Product Declaration (ISO 14025)

Significant milestones in 2023
- The percentage of eco-designed equipment shipped during the last financial year has increased to 95%.
- Expansion of the calculation of the carbon footprint according to ISO 14064, including the rest of the companies in Spain in the current scope of Orona, S.Coop.
- Establishment of a methodology to raise environmental awareness among the entire Orona, S.Coop. collective and the rest of the companies in Spain by means of information pills.
ADDED VALUE IN PRODUCT AND SERVICE
The environmental factor is a key criterion in the design process, in this way, we give added value to our product and service. We are committed to local manufacturing, and we also work to improve our energy efficiency during the usage phase, providing solutions such as energy regeneration systems or LED lighting, among others.
CONTROL OF IMPACTS ON THE ACTIVITY
We have been calculating our carbon footprint since 2019 in order to identify the main sources of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and establish actions to eliminate them or, failing that, mitigate them as much as possible.
In addition, we regularly monitor environmental management indicators, such as the consumption of water, energy, natural gas, fuel, raw materials and waste management, in order to ensure sustainable use and in line with the guidelines set out in the Environmental Policy on Pollution Prevention.
