The story of the City of David began over 3,000 years ago, when King David established Jerusalem as the unified capital of the tribes of Israel. King David's son, King Solomon, built the First Temple next to the City of David on top of Mount Moriah, the site of the binding of Isaac, and this hilltop became one of the most important sites in the world. In many ways the site is the cradle of western civilization and the place where so much of the biblical narrative began and took place. Not too many words are required- please see the following images to get a glimpse of the project and by extension the entire site.
I created the work in Carerra, Italy. The marble there is beautiful. Following is a video of the marble being quarried from the mountain.
