Scrum Master: Referee vs. Boxer

During the tea break, the team talked about how the Scrum Master, instead of solving conflicts, was adding to them by arguing on a DS call. The person who should be acting as a referee is punching people around, breaking the team's energy. A Scrum Master should resolve conflicts, not create them!!
Think of a referee in a boxing match. They ensure fair play and follow the rules. Now, imagine that referee throwing punches – chaos and bias much? Might look fun surely interesting. Their job is to facilitate the match, remove obstacles, and stay neutral.
A ref boxing is like a Scrum Master doing tasks – conflicts galore. Mixing roles is a sure-fire way to be ineffective in both.
Referees ensure fairness. Scrum Masters ensure Agile adherence.
Stick to your role – nobody wants a referee in the ring or a Scrum Master coding/testing!
