Is Scrum Master more of a tour guide?

While I was reading THE MENTAL TOUGHNESS HANDBOOK, I was able to co-relate things with the role of Scrum Master. Agile is not a cakewalk for most of us to get things as expected from day one. As we used to head to towards unknown destination and without a tour guide journey may not be as enjoyable as it may seem from the surrounding (Environment).

Most importantly, a tour guide helps you to stay alert so that none of his audience (Team members) boarded on the bus miss anything valuable (Site seeing) while they reach intermediate spot points (milestones) in terms of deliverables incremently .

Alerts Like:

-Tighten your seat belts as the road ahead may be patchy.

-Close your windows as thundering may trigger heavy rain.

-Turn on your headlights and mirror wiper to have a clear vision and avoid any miss happening.

Keeping your team members aware of things that they may encounter helps them to prepare well eventually making them more comfortable while dealing with those unseen turned actual circumstances.

Scrum Guide mentions special tactics: Here are a few of them:

Scum Master acts are visionary, by keeping his team members informed well in advance what may or may not be the case moving ahead in terms of approach and challenges. Similar to tour guide (Alerts mentioned above.)

By doing so, Scrum Master acts as a protection layer for his team by letting them know where to focus and what to ignore. Just like a tour guide,

Scrum Master helps the team to introspect what all they have done and what all they have missed and what all precautions we as a team need to take going ahead. Similar, to the tour guide.

Scrum Master never lets his team be in a comfortable position, The moment you are in a comfortable position, the probability of making a mistake increases manifold. So, SM ensures a lively environment similar to the tour guide, who sometimes cooked his own stories to keep his audience's curiosity high eventually helping his audience stay active.
