Hi,
As you know, effective presentations have always been dynamic.
They must evolve with the needs of our audiences and the contexts of our times.
That’s why I've recently delved deep into a trend that’s been gaining momentum:
The art of unscripted presentations.
And in today’s email, we’ll dig deep into this question:
Should you not have a script?
The short answer: yes!
See, we live in an age where data overload is real.
At the same time, there's a growing desire for authenticity and spontaneity.?
An unscripted presentation offers the best of both worlds.
It allows you to establish genuine connections with your audience.
After all, your focus is now on them, not on your script.
You’re no longer simply giving them information.
Rather, you’re engaging with them in a dialogue.
This helps them remember your message better.
Now, you can have an unscripted presentation in two ways:
1. Prepare just your slides and present them without a script.
You can show slides to your audience and explain them without a script.
How you present your data and slides will mainly depend on your interactions with them so far.
2. Slide-less presentation.
Here, the spotlight is on you and your message.
It’s imperative to have a robust grasp of your topic.
With this kind of presentation, the goal isn’t to recite facts.
Rather, it’s to engage in a fluid conversation with your audience.

But remember, it’s not just what you say that they’ll pay attention to.
Your gestures, stance, and eye contact also become ways for them to gauge your confidence.
A balance of assertiveness and approachability in your body language is the key.
Now, you might be wondering which approach is better.
The truth is that there’s no straightforward answer.
Tailoring your approach based on the audience is crucial to unscripted presentations.?
Example…
A group of professionals might appreciate your in-depth analysis but will still need visual aids…
While a general audience might value anecdotes and explanations even without images.
Now, if you'd like to learn more about doing unscripted presentations…
Or improve your presentation skills...?
Feel free to reply to this email anytime!
Cheers,?
