Scratching the Surface
In my last post I mentioned working 'out of the comfort zone'. That was due to being handed an unfamiliar computer with an unfamiliar application to begin a days drawing on. Well this time I'm being asked again, with a different computer, but with a little more preparation this time.
The MS Surface Pro has been around for some time. I had one myself a couple of years back but after freezing on me more than once I sold it on. Whilst annoying when a computer does that in your office at least you've got plenty of time to sort it out it's another when it does it during a presentation and in my case in front of an expectant crowd of staff members at the Mclaren factory.
The client has supplied the Surface Pro. It runs on Windows 10, like my Wacom Cintiq, so it's all a bit more familiar to me. I know the application I'm using (Autodesk Sketch Book Pro) reasonably well but don't use it on a daily basis.
I will of course report back, let you know how I got on, freeze or no freeze and show the work I produce next week then we'll see what it is revealed when I scratch the Surface.
