Last Weekend I had the Opportunity to Speak At PodFest in Orlando
Last August, I was excited to receive an email confirming that my speaker submission had been accepted to present at one of the two largest podcast conferences in the world, "Podfest."
Fast forward to two weeks ago, and I had no plane or hotel booked, no speech prepared, and no one to watch Oakley (it’s been a busy last five months). Not to mention the pre-trip anxiety I still get before flying and the other work we had to get done.
Luckily, we found some flights, a hotel, and someone to take care of Oakley (Thank you, Meg!).?
P.S.: Asking someone "Hey... can you watch my dog for five days and four nights" on 24 hours notice is not the easiest request.
Anyway, Bre and I woke up at 2:45 a.m., drove down to O'Hare, boarded the flight, and off we went to Orlando, Florida.
Despite the weather being in the 80s and staying at Shingle Creek for three nights and five days (the course looked nice), I did not hit a single golf ball. The trip was mostly head down with client work, presentations, and... that speech I still had to create and practice.
I got a bit nervous and excited as I kept seeing sign-ups for my session rise every day leading up to Saturday, past 150. The last time I traveled to speak at a conference, it was on a side stage in front of twelve people so this was a nice change.?
After spending the morning rehearsing, Ubering around Orlando to find a Mac adapter, and pacing around, the time came. I took the stage, and everything went well.
The crowd was great and very engaged; they actually laughed at my jokes, and it felt good to get up there again.
Even better, a lot of people asked questions, came up to talk, and sent emails after, thanking me and asking for the presentation deck. After a year with a lot of change, it was validating that we’re on the right track and continue to see growth.?

Over 300K Views on Our Last 4 Instagram Reels and a New Sponsor!
We’ve made some changes to the Milwaukee Uncut Podcast and are starting to hit our stride on Instagram.
This has been due to a number of factors, but we’ve really been focused on creating the best video content possible, making it shareable, and really focusing on watch time percentage per social clip.
In some other news, we’re excited to continue our partnership with OnMilwaukee and announce Nicolet Law as a new sponsor of the show! Yes, the cartoon on all the billboards is actually a real human being. I had a couple of conversations with Russell Nicolet. I like what he is doing and the brand he is building, and we’re excited to partner with them.
Proud to Announce New Clients
