The Scotts’ Journey to Inspire Future Leaders
Cumorah Academy
We help European Young Adults improve their English, find a better job, start businesses and become leaders.
The Essence of a Great Leader
What defines great leaders? Think back on your experiences and the qualities that stood out to you. Perhaps you had a teacher who truly believed in you or a manager who led with diligence and productivity. Although this question is deep and complex, one thing is clear:
Each great leader is unique.
This is exactly what Chelsea and Steve Scott came to share with our students during their recent stay on campus. The strength of our campus lies in our mentors’ vast experience, and their eagerness to inspire our students creates a lasting impact. Chelsea and Steve are no exception; they are deeply committed to guiding students toward their potential.
Inspiring Leadership Through Stories
Chelsea and Steve Scott believe that bringing together like-minded students has the potential to inspire remarkable outcomes. They know that many students come from challenging backgrounds, with some having experienced life in war-torn regions.
The Scotts are passionate about listening to these stories. “It’s so wonderful to hear everyone’s stories,” Chelsea shares, underscoring the importance of helping students connect their life stories with their values. They believe that God constantly works to expand our understanding of ourselves.
Chelsea encourages, “Use your unique strengths to define who you are. Growth is a process of personal development, learning, making mistakes, and trying again.” After their classes, students expressed feeling transformed by the Scotts’ mentorship. “I learned how to approach leadership with a positive attitude,” shares Tiago from Portugal.
Leaders in Personal Growth and Guidance
Both Chelsea and Steve are alumni of Brigham Young University, where they studied therapy. Steve spent 16 years working with Seminaries and Institutes of Religion before launching his own business. Together, they now operate their coaching business, Hope Haven, where they mentor people in relationships, marriages, and family dynamics, each with their own individual clients.
Their connection to Cumorah Academy began when Steve met Patrick and Alyse Sedivy during a business training session. Years later, they were invited to mentor at the academy. After thoughtful prayer, they felt inspired to come, filling our campus with love and encouragement.

Leaders as Storytellers
Chelsea and Steve believe that sharing one’s story is among a leader’s most powerful tools. “One of the strongest assets you can have as a leader is to share your story and create connections for others,” says Steve. Chelsea adds, “You never know who will be touched by your story.”
As Steve Jobs once said:
The most powerful person in the world is the storyteller.
He was right. Nearly every great leader has a natural ability to tell stories that inspire, spread ideas, and leave an impact. This is what Chelsea and Steve aim to instill in our students. After a week filled with transformative experiences, students feel empowered as the authors of their own lives. They hold the pen to write their monumental stories.
The Scotts embody what we strive for on our campus. They offer faith and hope to students who often come from difficult environments.?
In a world filled with discouraging messages, young adults face constant challenges to their self-worth. We are changing that narrative now. Chelsea and Steve have shown that true leaders are defined by their values and personal stories, encouraging our students to realize their vast potential.
