Scottish Craft Brewers Brighten Up Edinburgh With Sunshine Bar At New Waverley
Innis & Gunn, voted Scottish Brewery of the Year, are spreading some sunshine in the capital with a pop-up Sunshine Bar to combat the short days and dark nights of a gloomy November.
Located at the multiple award winning New Waverley, being delivered by Artisan Real Estate Investments, and set amongst Edinburgh’s Food & Flea Market, the bar will bathe drinkers in sunshine using SAD lights whilst they enjoy some liquid sunshine with a complimentary pint of Innis & Gunn Lager.
The unique Sunshine Bar has been flooded with SAD lighting which is designed to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder. As little as 20 minutes in front of these lights has been proven to improve moods by releasing the happy hormone, serotonin.
Dougal Gunn Sharp, Innis & Gunn Founder and Master Brewer said: “As daylight becomes scarce I think we all start to feel a bit gloomy. We want to help brighten the spirits of Edinburgh locals with a space that, from inside or out, acts as a ray of sunshine for the city.”
Innis & Gunn will be encouraging visitors who benefit from the uplifting effect of the Sunshine Bar to spread the sunshine after they leave by taking away a pledge to make someone smile, whether it’s taking a mate for a pint or texting an old friend you’ve not seen in ages.
To try this 3 day pop up event out, locals can guarantee their slot in the Sunshine Bar by booking free tickets HERE - please note that last entry is 9.30pm.
Oh. This is good.
