Scott Barshay's advice for clients: "Figuring out if there were problematic emails that are going to come out."
This is the key to understanding the Epstein coverup at MIT: the manipulated emails that support the narrative that MIT's legal team was selling.
I feel I've done such a terrible job of trying to tell this complicated story that the scope of the crime and corruption hasn't come through. And yet, willy-nilly, I am near the finish line, and I have only one major piece left to tell: how MIT's lawyers manipulated MIT emails to tell the harmless narrative they concocted in order to hide the reality of what Epstein was doing at the Media Lab.
First of all, the Goodwin Procter lawyers were hired just to run the fake "fact-finding" interviews. It's the Paul, Weiss superstars — Scott Barshay and Claudia Hammerman — who were getting the big bucks and running the show. And if you look at their clients, it's all Citigroup, JP Morgan, Chevron, Cheniere, Schlumberger, which corresponds exactly to the two who hired them for the Epstein job: former CIA director John Deutch (MIT '61) and former Citigroup CEO John Reed (MIT '61).
As I've mentioned many times, this tragedy began in 2010. Deutch wasn't getting the green light that he wanted from the MIT Corporation for his partnership with Russian oligarchs and Russian weapon manufacturers, so he reached out to his buddy John Reed and had him nominated as the Chair of the MIT Corporation. Bang! Reed was elected in April 2010 and by June Deutch had the green light he wanted for "Skoltech".
This led to Susan Hockfield's unexplained, premature resignation when the deal was finalized in Oct 2011 ("The Institute is now moving forward on a new set of ambitious goals…" — No, it wasn't "The Institute", it was Deutch and Reed, The Two Johns").
No worries. Reed just replaced her with "Leo" Rafael Reif, who thanks to Deutch was being paid $350K annually as a Schlumberger director — $4.5 million over the 14 years that he served on the board — and had no problem lying to the MIT community about what Deutch was doing in Russia.

"Problematic Emails"
The MIT report says that the MIT lawyers searched through 610K MIT emails. They certainly weren't looking for information they planned to reveal. They were looking for information they needed to hide.
So the MIT community needs to understand what it means that someone was searching through their email. And they need to understand who those people are, and what they did with that information, and where it is now.

1 个月Edmund Carlevale - fascinating saga of MIT that sounds like a Watergate rerun from this side of the pond. You say that Andrew has lost everything, but that is not exactly true. He has avoided testifying in court in the US by paying close to £13million to a woman he claims never to have met. Giuffre's silence might have bought off for now, but your investigations suggest that she has more to say on the matter.

1 个月The fact that you have conveyed so much information, which has also had to be gathered and collated, is a feat of itself! Something so vast in scope, and obviously deceptive, will undoubtedly have complexities that are yet to emerge! That you have shone a light on this, now means that more people are looking, and again, have little doubt that more stones will be lifted!
