Russell Dalgleish is a great example of the very best of Scotland; we met on LinkedIn 5 years ago whilst I lived in Valencia and he in sunny Linlithgow. How can we ensure just like me and Russell, meeting future generations have the same opportunities we did? Through this powerful network, so much has been achieved and will continue to be achieved. All through a passion for our country and our future. Thanks also to the likes of Steven Turner Cath Strachan Christine Esson and many more.
There are also other groups like Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International ; they also play a key role with the GlobalScot programme. Imagine like in the message we unite the clans we meet regularly and we share one voice for Scotland there will always be neh sayers but we're Scots we think different we see the opportunity in the least likely of places (e.g. nessie cuddly toy). Joking aside, our future generations need us, as I've seen from my personal growth being both a Global Scot and a Scottish business network ambassador. There are many possibilities to build together and help each other to make the most of our global networks.
I saw this first-hand on our trip to New York last year; it was a spectacular moment when we all came together and marched to represent Scotland. Why don't we, in that vein, move forward with initiatives? Knowing the Scottish Business Network as I do, I see the great advances they are making for #2025 and the exciting times ahead.
As we look forward, let's focus on uniting and building for Scotland and future generations via AI, tech advancements, startup support and also SME and medium energy space and game sector plus other business support. The key to all is going to be international strategy.
We are Scots, and I'm sure you can find one in every part of the world. Let's use this to our advantage. I hope to have some news shortly on this front of uniting and building for Scotland, as actions are louder than words; I also hold myself to that statement.
From Australia to Houston to Washington to Indonesia to Vietnam to Canada to France to Spain over to Dubai and to Singapore let's UNITE THE CLANS

2 周Craig, I wish I could share your enthusiasm. I worked in the global electronics and computer industries from 1982 until 2015. I started out in Silicon Glen with Racal, Hewlett Packard, Philips Electronics and was employee #32 with the Sun Microsystems European Operations start-up in Linlithgow. I was Director of European Supplier Management. In December 1994 I relocated to Sun Corporate in the San Francisco Bay Area where I stayed for 5 years. In Linlithgow I worked closely with Scottish Enterprise and Locate In Scotland to convince our suppliers to set-up manufacturing operations in Scotland, Jabil Circuit, for example, who are still in Livingston. During my time in California I had global responsibility for Displays, Power Converson, I/O Devices, External Manufacturing (outsourcing), Memory, ASICs, and SPARC Microprocessors. The supply base was predominantly Asian and I spent my life in Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Penang. If I had a £1 for every time someone approached my about joining a global network of Scottish business people I could have retired a time ago. These networks have a limited value when there is not a well thought out and coherent Scottish industrial strategy behind them.
Absolutely delighted to be part of this global network! Scots get everywhere so we should leverage our talent and diaspora ????????????????
