The Scorecard: How Did Your Content Marketing Perform?

With Q4 of 2022 slowly ebbing away, businesses are winding down for the year and also doing a performance evaluation. Small business owners are no exemption as they will also have a thing or two to evaluate their performance.

Where to start from wouldn’t require any crystal ball. It sure has to be from your content marketing, as it is the window of any business.

Content marketing has evolved to become an important tool for many small businesses looking to grow their brand and reach new customers. However, evaluating the performance of your content marketing strategy can be difficult, especially if you are not familiar with the various data and metrics that are available.

In order to evaluate your content marketing performance this year, it is important to first understand what kind of data is available, and then use this data to identify trends and adjust your strategy accordingly in the coming year.

There are a variety of metrics that you can track in order to evaluate the performance of your content marketing efforts.

The first step is to look at website traffic metrics like pageviews, unique visitors, and time on site. This can help you identify which content is performing well and what aspects of your strategy may need improvement.

Also, tracking engagement metrics like click-through rates and social shares can help you understand which pieces of content resonate with your audience and where you might need to focus more attention to increase conversions.

Another important metric to measure is conversion rates, which can be tracked by using tools like Google Analytics and Hootsuite. This will help you determine which pieces of content are driving the most sales or leads, allowing you to focus your efforts on producing more content that meets these objectives.

Ultimately, by tracking and analyzing the relevant data, you can make informed decisions about what is working and where there may be room for improvement in your content marketing strategy towards the new year.
