For the 19th year, Scope has honoured outstanding performance in the areas of liquid and alternative investments. J.P. Morgan Asset Management won the award for best universal provider. Union Investment scored highest for sustainable investments.
Together with its media partner Handelsblatt, Scope, the leading European rating agency, has honoured the best funds, investment companies and certificate providers in 57 categories. Scope analysts studied around 13,000 funds and hundreds of asset managers and certificate providers on the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.
Scope Awards for investment funds (UCITS)
In the area of UCITS funds, awards went to the best asset managers and funds active in 28 categories. J.P. Morgan Asset Management received the award for best universal provider. The jury was convinced by the diversity of investment strategies and the good performance of many portfolios.
Union Investment won the award for best ESG universal provider in Germany and Austria. The company integrates environmental, social and governance factors into all phases of the investment process across all asset classes. In Switzerland, Janus Henderson won in this category.
Janus Henderson also did well as the best asset manager for equities in the small and mid-cap segment. Deka Investment (Germany) and Wellington Management (Austria and Switzerland) were recognised as the best providers of bond funds.
The award in the multi-asset class went to Allianz Global Investors. More than half of the company's active mixed funds evaluated have a top rating from Scope.
Scope Awards for Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)
In the field of alternative investment funds, Scope assessed asset managers in a total of 25 categories. New this year are four categories for providers of European Long-Term Investment Funds (ELTIFs).
Neuberger Berman won the ‘ELTIF – Private Markets Private Equity’ category. BNP Paribas AM won in the ELTIF segment for Private Debt, while Aquila Capital won in the ‘ELTIF – Private Markets Infrastructure’ category. Partners Group was named best asset manager of mixed private markets strategies.
Deka Immobilien, DWS, MEAG and Berenberg received two Scope Awards for alternative investments.
Deka underpinned its real estate expertise with wins in the categories for global real estate and for European real estate for private investors. A strong operational asset management performance forms the basis for this success.
The award in the ‘Real Estate Europe Institutional’ category was given to DWS due, among other things, to the excellent occupancy rate of its properties. In the ‘Infrastructure Equity’ category, the company impressed with a strong performance.
MEAG did well in the German real estate and retail segments, while Berenberg convinced the jury in two infrastructure categories.
Scope Awards for certificate providers
Scope presented awards in four categories to investment certificate providers. DekaBank was named best primary market provider, while Société Générale won in the secondary market. This year's trading award went to Morgan Stanley. Landesbank Baden-Württemberg was named most sustainable certificate issuer.
