Chappell Roan Calls Out Toxic Fan Behavior
Chappell Roan, an artist who has shot to stardom practically overnight, has called out “entitled” fans for their harassment and stalking of celebrities. In a TikTok rant on August 19, the 26-year-old pop star criticised this behaviour. Roan, questioned whether people would treat a stranger on the street the same way they do celebrities.
This issue highlights a broader problem in our digital age. With parasocial relationships—where fans feel they know celebrities intimately due to the sheer amount of personal information available—we often blur the lines between public and private life. Celebrities like Lizzo have also spoken out about such intrusive behaviour and her own experiences, in response to Chappell's videos.
