PR is about is all about developing and executing communication programs that build and maintain a positive image for the cooperation or institution. public relations industry is thriving each year, That can be done by creating and managing media relations, writing and distributing press releases, and organizing events.

Social media had also a profound influence on the media and public relations professions. In an ING study on the criticality of social media, 81 % of PR professionals and 78 % of journalists indicated they can no longer do their job without using social networks.

The role of Public Relations differs from one company to another. Because being a PR manager can be a tricky job, usually, with different projects going on at once so, this role requires creativity, resourcefulness, and strong communication skills.

PRs are a bridge that facilities between media and firms.

To talk more about the Public Relation industry and whether PR can help raise revenue, I decided to interview Mr. Ali Khalis, a Senior PR executive who holds a master's degree in English literature and gave countless lectures at universities around Baghdad. He has been in the PR industry for almost five years and has helped countless people find their passion and be in the PR business.

Moreover, in this interview, Mr. Ali reflects on the role of a PR Manager and what great potential this industry has in the upcoming years along with the challenges it has.

What inspired you to pursue a career in PR?

When I first started the role of PR every day was different. I was learning new things every day, I got the opportunity to meet the most talented people in the industry and most importantly I had the opportunity to experience a high-energy environment.

How would you describe your overall experience in the PR industry?

The PR industry is great yet it has many difficulties. I could say that it is "many roles in one position" because to be a PR mean you have to have good knowledge of marketing, communication skills, negotiation skills, persuasion skills, and more.

As the future of PR continues to transform, the line between marketing, customer service, and PR will become more and more blurred.

How could a PR improve the public image of the company?

Employers ask this question to see if you have experience with public relations and how you would apply your skills to their company. When answering, think about the goals of the organization and what steps you would take to help them achieve those goals.

I believe that analyzing is extremely important because researching the current image of the company and finding out how people feel about the company. Then I create a plan for improving the company’s image by implementing strategies that address the root cause of the problem.

What is the message that needs to create an impact in the minds of companies for effective brand positioning?

Communication! It has a strong influence on the target audience for them to remain loyal to the organization or company.

In public relations, you have to ensure that the companies interpret the message correctly and also give necessary feedback and reviews. It is really essential to understand its target audience. Public relations experts must do extensive research and gather as much information as they can before planning any public relation activity. Public relations activities would go unnoticed if their target did not understand them well. Public relations activities must be designed keeping in mind the benefits of the target audience for better brand positioning.

PR can create a deeper connection between companies, which will defiantly be a game changer

As I tried to summarize the key points of the Public Relations role and how it became one of the most needed positions in almost the last three years all over the globe considering its many responsibilities and how it has a greater benefit to the firm or institution.
