Welcome to the very first edition of Scoop for 2023, the ultimate newsletter for all your SolarBuddy stories, news and important updates. This month, we celebrate International Women's Day and champion gender equality in the age of innovation and technological change. It is also perfect timing to introduce to you our brand new educational entity, 'SolarBuddy STEM', recognising the importance of preparing the future workforce in the technological-age.??

This week we celebrate International Women's Day, and we couldn't be bigger supporters of this year's theme. This year we embrace 'DigitALL', highlighting the importance of equal education and empowerment for women and girls in the age of innovation, technological change and digitisation.??

We champion the ethos of education for ALL being a fundamental human right, and support women in both developed and developing nations embrace STEM learning and innovative skills.??

StudentBuddy, our newer more complex solar solution was designed with women in mind. In one of our most exciting updates yet, we've been able to talk to two women in Papua New Guinea who were the first recipients of StudentBuddy to learn about the ways they are empowered to be innovative with their new solar technology.??

SolarBuddy Social STEM launches?

The world is changing around us. STEM skills are vital in the technological age. How do we equip our students with the skills and abilities they need in the workplace, that they don't discover in formal school programs??

There's no better time than this week to announce the launch of SolarBuddy STEM, our brand new SolarBuddy entity with the mission to provide vital Social STEM learning to all children across Australia.??

We're linking?local schools with local businesses to achieve our mission.?We want to hear from the innovative business leaders who want to play an important role in ensuring students thrive in STEM. Does this sound like you or someone you know???

We're growing, and our space has too!??

We knew with all the growth and expansion into new parts of the world, our space needed to reflect all the lights we were packing up and shippin' out!

The Australia team have moved?HQ, equipped with the high ceilings and warehouse space we need to reach more children and change more lives with light in 2023 and beyond!??

FIA Conference

?Our wonderful Business Development Manager, Holly Bond recently attended the? Fundraising Institute Australia ?annual conference. This is the largest country-wide gathering of fundraisers.??

She sat on a panel with former head of Origin Energy Foundation , Ruth Lee to discuss,

"What creates, makes and sustains a great corporate/not-for-profit partnership?"

SolarBuddy has developed a strong partnership with Origin Energy over the years. Our alignment of vision and values as well as a desire to make the greatest impact in new, innovative ways has cemented this. Origin Energy Foundation have been key to the launch and continuous success of our Illuminating Communities Program, empowering Indigenous Australian students with Social STEM skills and providing light to remote communities.?
