Our Favourite Brand Social Moment Of The Week

Designer Highlighters, Anyone??

Imagine stepping into your first day of school armed with Dolce & Gabbana highlighters—yes, you read that right! In an unexpected partnership that sits "at the intersection of art and function", Stabilo and Dolce & Gabbana have joined forces to create a limited-edition collection of highlighters.

Despite certain members of our team having very strong feelings about the "massive CGI products on a city backdrop" cliche, the brands' social communities loved this playful crossover that brings a touch of luxury into everyday essentials, and they swarmed on the pop-up in Milan. No one ever needs an excuse to buy new stationery.

Tech Triumphs

AR Glasses: The New Phone?

Mark Zuckerberg seems to think so… At Meta’s Connect conference, he unveiled Orion, the latest augmented reality glasses prototype. We've seen these before from Google Glass, Snap’s AR Spectacles and Apple’s VisionPro. Still, Zuckerberg is confident that Orion will eventually be a competitor to today’s smartphones and laptops—potentially within the next five years. It’s a bold prediction, but with AR and AI rapidly evolving, it might not be so far-fetched. Hopefully, the actual glasses will have had a glow-up by then, maybe D&G can help Mark out once they're finished with Stabilo?

Platform Updates

TikTok Partners With WHO to Combat Medical Misinformation

In a bid to curb the spread of health misinformation online, TikTok is partnering with the World Health Organization's “Fides” group—a network of over 800 healthcare professionals who actively engage on social media.

Together, their new fact-checking initiative will combat false health claims by providing clear, factual explainers and insights on key health topics, ensuring credible information is more visible than ever. Finally, a social media platform using its powers for good! Take notes, Elon...

Our Fave Social Trend?

"I Lied... Put Your Clothes Back On"?

TikTok users are once again reviving old memes, and this time it's the phrase “I lied, put your clothes back on,” - a reference to an old Reddit meme that’s making a comeback.

The meme used to be for sharing what you were real nerdy about like “I lied... put your clothes back on, let me explain the entire Lord of the Rings plot to you” or “Let's play Dungeons and Dragons instead.”? But now in its revived form, this trend has taken on a life of its own with people sharing their most unfiltered opinions and thoughts.

If you're a brand that stands for something strongly, this one is definitely for you.

Drama, Discussions, Debates

Are you dressing to impress?

If not…Where have you been? This in-app Roblox game has taken the internet by storm, racking up 3.2 billion visits and a daily average of 200-250k players worldwide. What used to be considered a game for young teens has now spread like wildfire and developed a dedicated community of all ages, even developing its own lore and slang.

With collaborations like Charlie XCX's brat-themed collections, this virtual runway competition is blurring the lines between fashion and pop culture. It’s reactive, stylish, and constantly evolving.

So where does the drama come in? Well, my partner isn't talking to me anymore after I beat him to a podium finish on the Regency Era-themed runway. If you haven’t explored Dress to Impress yet, I must warn you, it's pretty addictive.
