Scleral Lens Fitting for Corneal Ulceration and Opacity Post-Rosacea
Seeing clearly means smiling brightly—every time.
?? We recently had a patient with severe corneal ulceration and opacity following rosacea. The images below highlight the challenges and solutions in her treatment. The first image shows the irregular NaCl deposit measuring 450μm at 16x magnification. The second image illustrates corneal vascularization within the optically active area.
Initially, wearing glasses provided her with a vision of 0.10. However, with the scleral lens correction, her vision improved dramatically to 0.40++.
?? This significant improvement in vision means the patient is now able to work effectively and read text in the form of newspaper print under good lighting conditions.
Guess who′s smiling again.
