Turin/ Torino is an industrial town of Italy. Fiat car used to be manufactured there. We decided to spend our summer there as our son Abhi was teaching in Turin University for a semester. It was worth the time as we could spend it with our grand daughter Yashi. I also took a book ‘The Scientist as Rebel’ by Freeman Dyson to read.
I have read many books by Dyson and am his fan. His other books read by me are ‘Disturbing the Universe’, ‘Infinite in all Directions’, ‘Sun the Genome, and the Internet, origins of life’ and From Eros and Gaia.
Dyson is leading theoretical physicist and emeritus professor at Institute of Advanced study, Princeton. 'The Scientist as Rebel' is collection of his articles; consisting of book reviews, essays on different subjects; mainly published in New York review of books.
The articles are not only review of the books but also in substance provide information on the subject as well as Dyson's views on the same. This is also true about the articles other than book reviews.
I found the book to be interesting and worth investing my time and money, you can read review of the book in Hindi in the link below.
