The Science of Team Building

For this seventh episode of Notes from the Lab we explore team building through collaboration and competition. Here in Québec, board games are very aptly called jeux de société meaning they are meant to be played by multiple people. At IPST, board game nights have become part of our organizational culture.

Biotech companies are traditionally built around innovation, and a strong work culture and teamwork significantly boost creativity, productivity, and, of course, job satisfaction. Playing board games is a great tool for fostering team building and collaboration within a company. The interactive nature of the board games promotes teamwork and cross-functional collaboration, cultivates a sense of unity among colleagues. And, of course, it is just a nice way to break from the usual routine and have fun.

This highlighted the immense value of “IPST board game nights” as a means of fostering cross-team communication.
