Promoting scientific literacy among 10th-graders
In February, we hosted the 10th-grade students from Escola Secundária António Gede?o and Escola Emídio Navarro (Almada) at CENIMAT | i3N facilities in NOVA-FCT. Together with these students, we embarked on a scientific journey discussing sustainability and the role cellulose and its derivatives can play in our society.
At the end, students had the opportunity to be scientists themselves and produce sensors using paper, putting their newly acquired knowledge into practice under the careful guidance of our researchers, Cristina Gaspar , Bruna Ramos , Tomás Freire , Rita Baptista , and Mariana Matias .
AlmaScience team selected for HiTech 2025
A team of AlmaScience researchers – including Sumita Goswami, Catarina Fernandes, Rita Baptista, and Mónica Gaspar Sim?es – was selected for HiTech 2025, a program designed for turning deep tech research into market-ready solutions.
HiTech 2025 is an initiative by HiSeedTech , a not-for-profit association founded by private companies coming together to enable the creation of value from knowledge through technology entrepreneurship and open innovation.
HiTech?2025 is an?immersive,?hands-on?training?program?for?research teams?working?on?deep?tech projects. It focuses on?essential?skills in?knowledge?commercialization for turning cutting-edge technologies?and scientific discoveries?into?high-growth business opportunities?
AlmaScience team will be working on “MTex: Electromagnetic Shielding Textiles”, a technology that embeds carbon nanotubes and conductive polymers into textiles, offering lightweight, flexible, and durable electromagnetic interference shielding.
AlmaScience at the Alto Minho Science Fest – The Future is Now!
From March 20 to 22, 2025, Arcos de Valdevez will host the 1st edition of Alto Minho Science Fest, bringing together scientists, innovators, and tech enthusiasts to explore the future of AI, space, and sustainable technology.?
AlmaScience will be there, showcasing our latest innovations in smart materials and green electronics.
