The Science of Small Things

Small things lead to big differences. I’ve bought many things in my life and sold a lot of real estate in my career, and I’ve found that some of the biggest decisions my clients and I have made have been made because of the smallest differences.

One of the first sales in my career was sealed because the $4M loft I was selling had a $500 washer/dryer in it.

I recently sold a $21M home, partly because the building had a $20K cold plunge.

It’s this small difference that separates the top brands and businesses.

Most successful developers and projects know all about this “science of small” and create a differentiation in their offerings. It used to be washers/dryers; now it’s cold plunges, saunas, and steam rooms.

And we see lots of them in real estate.

The doorman remembers your name.

-8ft doors.

-Pot fillers.

-6ft tubs.

-That extra sink.

-The built-in water filter.

Lewis Hamilton has won 105 Formula 1 races. His smallest recorded winning margin was 0.439 seconds, and his largest was 1 minute and 8.577 seconds.

Less than 1% of extra effort

I aim to focus on the small things because these make up the big picture.?

Side Bar:

Last week, Spirit Airlines filed for Bankruptcy. This week, Delta Airlines announced that it will offer Shake Shack to its first-class passengers. It almost makes me want to pay for that upgrade, but that would be a really expensive cheeseburger for a very small difference.

Let's do this-

Hi Shaun. Our Daughter who has two girls, ages 1 and 3 says she would want a building to have a designated kids play space. Is that something new Developpements are offering?
