Science is international

Science is international

In order to push the boundaries of knowledge, the world needs to work together. International collaboration has enabled the world's largest experiment - the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. The LHC is a fantastic example of just how much can be achieved if scientific communities work across country, sector and disciplinary borders. The accelerator has enabled to enter completely new territory, including the discovery of the Higgs Boson.

Future global projects will require a similar approach and one option that is currently being considered for next generation particle physics experiments is the Future Circular Collider (FCC) where the Conceptual Design Report was published earlier in 2019.

A film we have produced with CERN on the importance of international collaboration for FCC (the message of which applies to pretty much all large scale scientific projects) has just been nominated for a 2019 EVCOM film award.

In case you haven't seen the film yet, here's the link (feel free to share and help us get the message out): https://youtu.be/3pPAcrLUGX0.
