Well hey there, welcome back to the first 2023 edition of The Culture Junky weekly blog. I hope you’re having a great week so far as we find our rhythm in the new year after returning from the long weekend.?
With the year underway, I wanted to talk to you about the importance of putting together a calculated strategy for your intentional culture in the new year. You see, you may think that it’s okay to just start throwing ideas out there all at once without any rhyme or reason.?
Trust me when I say that is not how you want to go about things. I know it may seem tempting to implement a bunch of new strategies and ways to impact your team but you need to systematically add those new strategies and experiences in.?
Let’s take a little trip down memory lane, are you ready for this one??
Do you remember in science class as a kid when we would have to do experiments? One of the most important steps was the control element. It was something that allowed us to tweak one specific part of the whole equation to determine if the end result was any different?
You need to look at adding experiences to your organizational culture the same way. If you add in too many all at once you lose your control element. Without that, it becomes hard to tell whether the changes you’re making are having a positive or negative impact on your overall baseline.?
So before you jump back into things in the new year, make sure that you’re adding things into your culture strategically in a way that allows you to measure the efficacy so you can tweak things as necessary
Give that some thought, have a great rest of the week, and we’ll talk soon.?
