We have been taught to eat certain foods, perform specific rituals, and follow daily routines that are designed to keep us healthy and balanced. These practices have been passed down from generation to generation, and they continue to be an essential part of our lives.?

It recognizes that each individual has a unique body type or constitution, and thus, remedies must be customized accordingly. For example, one person in a family may require a heavy breakfast, while another may need to skip it. Ayurveda acknowledges that we are all unique and our age, current health condition, and individual needs must be taken into account before starting any remedy.

Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of waking up before sunrise and going to bed early and organizing your day according to these cycles. For example, important and focused work should be done during the morning hours, while lighter or limited work should be done after sunset. Unfortunately, with the rise of modern lifestyles, the wisdom of Ayurveda is being diluted.?

Why did Ayurveda decline??


Ayurveda, much like the rest of Vedic philosophy, follows the principle of Sanatana dharma, which teaches us to accept everything in its rightful time and place, and not to dismiss anything. While all forms of medicine can be beneficial, it is important to use the right treatment for the right ailment.

However, the decline of Ayurveda can be traced back to the British colonization of India. The British introduced Western medicine to India and deemed it superior to traditional practices like Ayurveda. In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in áyurveda as people seek alternative and holistic approaches to healthcare. áyurvedic practices have also gained recognition and acceptance in the Western world. However, there are still challenges to the widespread practice of áyurveda in India, including the lack of standardization and regulation, as well as the high cost of treatments. Despite these challenges, áyurveda remains an important part of India's cultural heritage and a valuable approach to healthcare. It offers a holistic and personalized approach to treating illnesses and promoting overall well-being. With continued efforts to promote and preserve áyurveda, it can once again become a widely practiced and respected form of medicine in India and beyond.

The Future of Ayurveda

Ayurveda has also encountered modern medicine and new health issues associated with the information age. It is adjusting itself with new forms of treatment and lifestyle adjustments and is coming into contact with new forms of Yoga, particularly in the West. This new interface of Yoga and Ayurveda, self-healing and self-realization, is one of the most important trends in Yoga and is bound to become more significant in the future.?Ayurveda is more than just a set of practices or remedies.
