Joint booth underwater technology

Welding and cutting also works under water! And?this technology is becoming increasingly important, because areas such as energy generation or?raw material extraction in coastal regions and in?the open sea depend on it. Wind turbines, drilling?rigs and offshore pipelines, for example, could?not function without the appropriate technology and its further development. Due to climate?change, coastal protection is also becoming an?increasingly important issue for society – another fi eld in which underwater technology plays?a major role.

Up to now, the applications of underwater technology in Germany have been mainly inland and in?coastal regions, primarily in the construction and?maintenance of inland waterways and port facilities, hydropower plants, drinking water supply facilities, port facilities and waterways for maritime shipping, fl ood protection facilities, weirs,?dams, barrages, bridges and other engineering?structures.

In all these areas, joining, cutting, coating and?testing in wet environments play a decisive role.?Visitors to this year’s SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN can therefore gain an excellent overview of?the spectrum of possibilities offered by underwater technology in the “UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGY“ exhibition area in Hall 7. An eye-catcher with information and entertainment value for exhibition visitors will be a diving container in which the?special features of underwater technology will be?demonstrated live. The potential of underwater?technology, its problem solutions, new developments and services will be presented by exhibitors and experts from the industry. Throughout?the week of the fair, the exhibiting companies on?the joint stand will provide information on a wide?range of topics and current challenges in underwater technology. These include, for example, the?application of new underwater testing methods?(NDT), new separation processes, underwater?bonding and scanning, securing bolted joints, new welding processes or welding for continuous, wet underwater welding. A welding competition will also be held in the diving container.?

The topic of underwater technology at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will be completed by the 9th?UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGY conference, which?will be held as a two-day event with a day of?presentations in German and English. The latest?developments in research and technology will?be presented, and another block of topics will?be offshore applications, for example. Numerous lectures are also strongly related to current?trends and applications of underwater welding.

You will find the Underwater Technology section?in Hall 7, booth 7G13
