Schools benefit from printers – Pupkewitz Motors & Schoemans donate 28 Printers countrywide.

Steering through the storms that are Covid-19, the war in Ukraine and flooding of the Toyota plant in Durban that led to major stock shortages, Pupkewitz Motors in partnership with Schoemans still find ways to help the Namibian communities in which it has been operating for decades.

On 20 September 2022 Pupkewitz Motors sponsored 28 printers to schools in the Khomas, Omaheke, Otjizondjupa, Hardap, Erongo, Oshikoto, Omusati, Ohangwena and Oshana regions. Two ceremonial handovers took place at the Pupkewitz Haval/GWM Windhoek and the Pupkewitz Toyota Oshakati branches respectively. The handover saw key stakeholders in attendance, namely Schoemans Office Systems, who is the primary partner in this initiative by availing their expertise in terms of servicing and delivery of the 28 printers countrywide. It also saw the media, Pupkewitz senior management, Dealer Principals for the different brands under the Pupkewitz Motors umbrella and representatives from the various schools as the guests of honour.

“Corporate Namibia and the private sector at large have a responsibility to actively participate in the upliftment of communities, for a better tomorrow ensuring that each individual at the end of the day is a responsible Namibian citizen which in turn can positively contribute to the economic well-being of Namibia as a whole.”, says Veruschka De La Harpe, Head of Marketing & Communications for Pupkewitz Motors.

Pupkewitz Motors has 14 branches all over the country, with the latest edition being its Pupkewitz Auto Parts in Rundu which specialises in replacement parts for various motor vehicle brands.

The Managing Director, Anton Westraadt, stated, “The donation of printers to schools made me think of the well-known proverb: "It takes a village to raise a child". If we want to raise and educate our children to reach their potential and make a difference, we can never delegate this to schools or our government only. It is a privilege for Pupkewitz Motors to make a difference through this donation.”

As a company, Pupkewitz Motors see it as a primary duty and responsibility to invest in the local communities in which they operate. Ultimately these are the people to who they provide affordable mobility solutions and who support their businesses in turn.

Johan Engelbrecht- COO of Schoemans says “Schoemans has been pioneering innovation and technological adoption in Namibia for the last 60 years. Part of this pioneering history includes support and assistance to communities and schools. This donation and support, together with the Pupkewitz Motors Group is a continuation of our support to the Namibian learner especially in the rural areas to access study materials needed for their schooling. We are proud of this partnership with the Pupkewitz Group, and we shall seek opportunities to explore other avenues to broaden this initiative and its positive impact”.
