School Leader Digest

School Leader Digest

Dear Colleague,

The sunshine has finally arrived for the busiest time of the school year!

This month’s digest encourages you to pause and consider the CPD needs of your staff team ahead of their new roles for September, with some quick links below.

  • If you are welcoming new leaders to your leadership team, or for those looking to hone their skills, explore Leadership CPD?with face-to-face events starting mid-September.
  • For staff moving into the EYFS for the first time, build their confidence with Support for Teachers Moving into the EYFS. The Autumn term EYFS Roadshow?will also be an ideal CPD opportunity for EYFS colleagues.
  • If you’ve appointed an ECT for your EYFS, then definitely take a look at our new, comprehensive online CPD programme for ECTs and Mentors, which supplements the National Programme.
  • You may also be implementing mixed age class teaching, with EYFS & KS1 taught together. Support for Teachers with Mixed Age Classes will help ensure provision meets the needs of all children and delivers the curriculum.
  • For your KS1 colleagues there’s a wide range of KS1 CPD?available and don’t forget to sign post them to Julie Fisher’s book ‘Moving on to KS1’ – a must read this summer!

As always, if you prefer to explore Bespoke Support matched to your school needs, then do reach out to Nikki Walters, a member of our Senior Team?to discuss possibilities.

Finally, when you have a moment to yourself, maybe in the car or during your summer break, do catch up on this month’s Head-to-Head Podcast, where leaders at the inspirational Whitefield Primary School share some impactful initiatives focused on engaging and supporting families.

Best Wishes,

Sarah Carey

Always a great read with a reminder of what is important to think about. Great to speak to so many leaders at the moment who recognise the power of CPD and he importance if investing in staff who are new to the role - whether it’s because they are new to role, or taking on a new age group, or are stepping up into a leadership role.
