SCHOOL INSECURITY?
Today, after the school shooting in Texas, every parent in America should be asking their school board and school administrators what they are doing to protect the children. Every Sheriff, Police Chief, Constable, Federal Agent in Charge should be moving immediately to make sure ALL schools in their jurisdictions are as safe as possible. Any security professional knows that there is a 100% chance that there will be more school shootings. The more the media posts the photo of the shooters and dedicate air time to the monsters who kill our children, the more likely that copycats will emerge. If politicians spent the amount of energy on legislation requiring school safety that they do trying to use the events for gun control measures, our schools would be much safer.
What if some of the trillions spent on Covid (that went to green causes) or the billions for Ukraine (with no oversight) went to protect our children in schools at home? Too often, school administrators, who have zero real world security experience or training, make decisions on the level of security at their schools. Law enforcement and security professionals don't order text books or dictate courses of study for schools so principals and school administrators should never try to design safety/security for their students. It is that simple. Parents across the country must rise up and make changes now. #schoolsafety #schooldesign

2 年I was a School Resource Officer for 10 years with the Tolleson, (Arizona) Police Department. While there I was involved in two incidents involving subjects with a weapon. Both were resolved with no further incident (Thank God). I briefed the school population on school safety, especially on incidents such as this. I made sure lockdown drills were taken seriously. I did not want anyone to be lost on my watch. I authored the School Emergency Response Plan which is still in use today, in hoping the basic training I provided was instilled in ensuring school safety. I hope other schools reflect on this incident and think of ways to improve on their safety. Prayers and condolences to the Ross Populations and the families.

2 年Thanks for bringing this to light Wayne. It’s tragic another event has occurred. We have to become better prepared at all levels I’m afraid.
